Journeys Home: Immigration & Activism with Mary Apollo
Launched in May 2020, this virtual series (14 episodes) featured refugee musicians and activists. With in-person venues closed, the series offered a platform for them to perform and fundraise as they navigated uncertain times. Online viewers tuned in to watch live events from their homes in support.

About the Event
Join us on 1 Journey Festival's Live and listen to Mary Apollo's experience as a journalist, advocate, and the ally for African-descent youth in the diaspora. She reports in English, Arabic and French and was selected as one of the most influential 100 advocates by the International Human Rights Fund - Trust 2019. Mary was born in South Sudan and first came to the US as part of a State Department program for young professionals four years ago.
